Part of G drive offline on Wednesday 22 May

15 May 2013

Under repair between 4.30pm and 8.30pm

Due to a hardware fault on the PSS file store system IT Services have decided that the best solution will be to repair and reboot one of the servers that provide the G drive service. To this extent part of the G drive will be offline on Wednesday 22nd May, between 4:30pm and 8:30pm

If your area is listed below, you should ensure that any files on G drive, that you may be working on, are saved and closed before 4:30pm on Wednesday 22 May.

  • It is important to note that not all G drive will be affected, only the following areas:

ASEC; Association of University Administrators (including AHUA); CAAS; Careers; Communications; Compliance and Risk; Counselling service; CR Sustainability; CTU; DHLE Return; Ethics; Exams Office; Financial Accounting; Governance; Health and Safety Services; Human Resources; Information Security; Information Governance; IS Programme Support Office; IT Services; JRUL; Manchester City South; Manchester Museum; Manchester University Press; Marketing Services; MCISO; MHS; NAP Network; North West Universities Purchasing Consortium; Occupational Health; Office of the Registrar, Secretary and Chief Operating Officer ; Pedagogic Development Office; Pensions Office; Planning Support Office; President’s Office; PU (Project Unity); Regional and Economic Affairs; Research and Business Engagement Support Services; SRAID; STARS (Not on G drive but on SS7 server); Student Experience; Student Project; University of Manchester Student’s Union Association.
