Global Graduates Programme offers students expenses-paid visits abroad

09 May 2013

Please encourage undergraduate students (excluding final year) to apply by Friday, 17 May.

The Global Graduates Programme is an initiative delivered by the Careers and Employability Division in collaboration with the Division of Development and Alumni Relations.

Thanks to the generous funding of a donor, in partnership with the University, the programme provides an exciting opportunity for our students to spend time in one of four global locations during late August, visiting a range of organisations, enhancing their employability and acting as ambassadors for The University of Manchester.

We would be grateful if you were able to raise awareness of this programme with any relevant students (it is not open to final year undergraduates or postgraduates).

Key points of the programme

  • The Careers Service will send four separate groups of four students (16 in total) to New York, Dubai, Singapore, Hong Kong between 17 August and 24 August 2013 to take part in a full week of visits and activities.
  • The cost of accommodation, travel and expenses will be covered.
  • The visits will aim to provide the chosen students with an opportunity to meet with alumni and representatives from a wide range of organisations to learn more about their businesses, roles, opportunities and their cities; considering the economic climate, working culture, business practices and areas for future growth.
  • Our Global Graduates will also be expected to play an ambassadorial role for The University of Manchester and share information about key developments for the institution.
  • These are transformational, life-changing opportunities exclusive to students at The University of Manchester.

For more details of the programme and how to apply, please direct students to:

The deadline for applications is Friday, 17 May 2013 at 5pm.
