The University is providing a series of bespoke training sessions about Microsoft 365 features and how they can be used to enhance communication and collaboration.

Each session has been tailored to satisfy the needs of University colleagues. Hable has consulted with representatives from teaching and learning, research, and professional services. We have also consulted with disabled staff to enhance session accessibility.

What is Microsoft 365 (MS365)?

MS365 is a cloud-based suite of integrated applications that includes the latest versions of:

  • Office - Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Teams
  • SharePoint
  • OneDrive
  • Apps including Forms, Planner, Lists, Whiteboard
  • Power Apps

About the training sessions

There have been four opportunities for staff and PGR students to attend a live ‘Welcome to MS365’ session. This session is a helpful introduction to MS365, the applications available and key features to support cross-collaboration. A video of this one-hour session is now available to view on this page under the ‘Training resources’ heading.

Separate focussed training sessions explore in more detail the core features of MS365 which enhance communication, collaboration, file storage and accessibility.

These are interactive sessions with a maximum of 15 delegates and places will be allocated on a first-registered and wait-list basis. Sessions will last for 90 minutes to ensure enough time is included for Q&A. Colleagues are asked to limit their choices to a maximum of two sessions each - to allow as many as possible to take part.

The following materials are available under the ‘Training resources’ heading of this page.

  • A copy of each training presentation.
  • A recording of each training session.

Learning outcomes and course content are detailed below.
