New Alma Announcement functionality

A new Announcements feature will be available within Alma, as part of the October 2021 release

This new feature allows announcements from the system vendor, Ex Libris, to be displayed to users from within Alma. Announcements can include new features, important issues, or unusual occurrences.

To view Announcements within Alma, a new loudspeaker icon will appear in the top right corner of the Alma menu bar, which will open the Announcements panel and display any updates.

This feature will be enabled for all Alma users from 3rd October 2021 and is currently available in the Alma sandbox. Individual users have the option of hiding this icon, or others, by customizing the menu bar, if they prefer. Click on More Actions (the 3 dots icon in the top menu bar), then Customize, and drag the Loudspeaker icon down to the Hide Icons section before saving.
