Library Christmas Fair and January charity homeless collection success
The Library Christmas Fair raised £450, which has been divided between the Shelter and Cornerstone charities. A belated thank you to bakers, stallholders and all who attended.
In addition, the January charity homeless collection was an outstanding success with a whopping 18 boxes, 10 binbags and 1 suitcase donated from Library staff.
The donations, which included foodstuffs, toiletries and clothing, have been split between three local charities; Barnabus, Cornerstone and Lifeshare.
About the charities
Shelter helps millions of people every year struggling with bad housing or homelessness through their advice, support and legal services.
Cornerstone is a day centre in Salford providing services to vulnerable and disadvantaged adults.
Barnabus is a Christian Homeless Charity, providing a lifeline to the homeless in Manchester for over 25 years, including a drop-in centre where people can make the most of a cooked breakfast or dinner, fresh clothing, healthcare and social activities.
Lifeshare is a voluntary organisation established to help meet the needs of homeless and vulnerable people in Manchester and Salford.
