Schedule of closure dates for remaining North Campus buildings
Our recent relocation programme has seen thousands of colleagues and hundreds of our technical spaces (including laboratories, workshops and associated facilities) transfer from our historic North Campus to other parts of our Estate, including the home of Engineering and Materials.
A schedule of closures for the North Campus buildings is detailed below:
Building | Faculty closure date |
---|---|
Barnes Wallis | Closed |
Manchester Meeting Place | Closed |
James Lighthill Building | Closed |
Morton Laboratory | Closed |
Renold Building | Closed |
Moffat Building | October 2022 |
MSS Tower | December 2022 |
Sackville Street Building | December 2022 |
The Mill | February 2023 |
Charles Street Car Park / Security Lodge | TBC |
Pariser Building | TBC |
For buildings without a confirmed closure date, we’re working hard to finalise the details and this page will be regularly updated to reflect updates to the schedule.
Staff and PGRs who use labs for teaching or research that remain operational on North Campus will retain full access, until the remaining laboratories are recommissioned elsewhere. Additionally, to minimise any impact on timetabled teaching and study activities that are taking place in George Begg and Pariser, access to these buildings will be unaffected during standard opening hours (in term time). Outside of these hours access for colleagues is by swipe card only. Please note that access and circulation routes may vary as we review security arrangements.
