Mandatory health and safety induction via Blackboard (for all colleagues / PGRs)

Before being granted access to your new workspace / laboratory, all colleagues and PGRs must complete their mandatory health and safety induction via Blackboard - simply log-in to Blackboard using your University log-in details and you'll find this course under your 'My Communities' tab, listed as "FSE [Your directorate] Health and Safety". If you can't see this module listed or experience any issues when completing the course, please get in touch via TEAM@manchster.ac.uk

Please ensure you've completed the following modules and associated tests withi the course:

  • General health and safety and test (all colleagues and PGRs)
  • Engineering Building A and Basement and test (all colleagues and PGRs)
  • Engineering Building B and test (all colleagues and PGRs)

If you are working from or will be accessing Oddfellows Hall, James Chadwick Building and/or York Street Building, please ensure that you have also completed these sections. This course should take no more than 45 minutes to complete.

Once you've completed this course, please get in touch via TEAM@manchester.ac.uk to confirm this and we'll be able to activate access to your workspace onto your swipe-card - please allow up to 48 hours from the point of activation for this to take effect on your card.

 

Technical induction (for colleagues and PGRs in technical spaces)

In addition to the health and safety induction above, colleagues and PGRs working or undertaking research in our laboratories and workshops will also be required to familiarise themselves with the content in our Technical Information course in order for swipe-card access to be granted to these areas. Following compeltion of this course, you will need to follow the link at the end to confirm you have read and understood this information.

Please allow up to 48 hours from the point of activation for this to be applied to your swipe-card.
