Using your equality Data

Your personal details are about you - the rest are statistics!

Information about staff disability, gender, race, religion or belief and sexual orientation help us to produce anonymous statistical reports.

These allow us to make sure we are directing time and resources in the places that will make the most positive differences for everyone.

This kind of information helps to direct things like the University’s Manchester 2020 Strategic Plan.

By monitoring and reporting on our staff data over the last 5 years we have been able to identify low numbers of Women and BME staff in senior academic and professional support positions.  This has led the University to set a key performance indicator against Goal 3 Social Responsibility, to increase the representation of women and black and minority ethnic staff in senior leadership, academic and professional support positions.

Through the Annual Performance Review process this allows us to direct resources and monitor activities that take place to achieve these goals.

We also use this information to direct work around our Equality Objectives, applications to Athena SWAN and the Race Charter Mark.
