When referring to 'age' we mean any age - certain factors may have an impact on different groups of people, therefore we are required to ensure we recognise these. 

The University of Manchester is committed to providing a positive working and learning environment free from discrimination, harassment, or victimisation on the grounds of age, or perceived age where all staff are treated with respect and dignity.

The University no longer has a fixed retirement age and employs people of all ages, adhering to the principles set out in the Equality and Diversity Policy and the Retirement Policy.
