Paul is the ED&I Partner for FSE, and PS areas of Estates & Facilities and DSE - he has been a member of the team since December 2009. His work with the faculties and PS areas ensure they plan meaningful and important equality objectives which are in line with the overall strategic values of the University. His main activities centre around co-ordination and direction of the staff network groups, their activities and strategies; the harrassment support advisor network; online and face to face training delivery and co-ordination for the unit; he is the University lead on the University’s Stonewall WEI application - he has been instrumental in the University achieving a top 20 place and maintaining a Top 50 position in this national index for 8 consecutive years.
Paul was highly commended in the 2020 Making a Difference Awards with his contribution to the National Conference on Intersectionalities held in Manchester as well as being named Mentor of the Year in the 2023 P&OD Awards. He has delivered sessions at numerous external events on LGBT+ inclusion, Senior management engagement for LGBT+ issues, Pronouns and bullying & harrassment. He also continues to lead on a successful University wide initiative to increase provision of all gender toilets and welfare spaces on campus.
