Prior to this, Fran worked as the Social Responsibility and EDI Officer in the Faculty of Science and Engineering (FSE), Fran led on a number of the Faculty’s signature Social Responsibility initiatives including ScienceX – the Faculty’s largest off-campus public engagement event which aimed to engage the University’s most local communities with science and engineering activities – as well as the Faculty’s Social Responsibility showcase event. Most recently, Fran coordinated the Athena Swan submission process for the two newly formed Schools, ensuring that the principles of consultation, collaboration and accountability were built into the applications and action plans. In addition, Fran was key in delivering Faculty EDI initiatives such as the positive action in recruitment pilot and an EDI workshop for the Faculty’s leadership. Prior to working in FSE, Fran worked in roles in widening participation, student support and experience at the University after completing her degree here.
