Banji joined the newly created Directorate of ED&I in 2021. She partners with Graham Smith P&OD. Prior to joining the ED&I team, she worked for Barts Health NHS Trust in London where she held the position of Associate Director, Inclusion, from 2012 to 2021.  At Barts Health she led the diversity and inclusion agenda across five hospitals which had more than 16,000 staff, located in one of the most diverse parts of the country.
