Governance

The EDI governance structure enables us to fulfil our strategic objectives and ensure we are well-managed and accountable to our stakeholders.

The Vice-President for Social Responsibility is the Executive Lead for EDI, reporting to the President and Vice-Chancellor.

The EDI Director, Banji Adewumi, with the support of the University’s EDI Committee, has lead responsibility for the development, implementation and monitoring of the EDI strategy.

EDI Committee

The purpose of the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee is to provide leadership, drive and strategic direction on EDI across all parts of the University.

The EDI Committee meets three times a year and is an opportunity for any equality and diversity issues to be discussed in a structured environment.

The group is chaired by the Vice President for Social Responsibility and is attended by a number of representatives from around the University.

EDI Operational Management Group

The EDI Operational Management Group provides a platform to discuss the administration of practices aligned to the EDI Strategy across the University. The group is chaired by the Director of EDI, Banji Adewumi, and meets bi-monthly

EDI Forum

The EDI Forum was established in February 2020. A member of the EDI Committee chairs the Forum and will raise any issues at the EDI Committee meetings on behalf of the Forum.
