The University website has the best SEO performance according to Edurank, which grades educational institutions on their social media results
The University website took first place in a ranking run by Net Natives measuring educational institutions on their social media results.
SEO – or search engine optimisation, to give it its full name – describes the ways in which digital content can be made more findable by users of search engines. Ranking as high as possible in search engine results is a key element in staying ahead of competitors – crucial in a busy sector such as higher education.
SEO best practices are embedded across the institution’s content teams and form part of the University’s writing for the web training. For those looking for additional support, there is guidance on SEO copywriting available on the University brand pages.
“This award is a great recognition of the work of everyone involved in digital marketing and communications at the University,” said our Content Manager Neil Condron.
“Good SEO relies on the efforts of many people – writers, editors, producers, designers, developers and more. We’re lucky to have such a brilliant community at Manchester.”
