PARTICIPANTS REQUIRED FOR FOOD AND BRAIN STUDY

We are currently recruiting volunteers to take part in a study investigating the neurocognitive responses to visual food cues in hunger and satiety. You are potentially eligible if:

  • You are between 18-40 years old

  • You have an increased body mass index (between 25 and 40 kg/m2). The formula to calculate your BMI is given below:

  • You are not taking any medication for chronic diseases (e.g. diabetes)

  • You have normal or corrected vision.

  • You regularly eat breakfast.

  • You are not vegetarian or vegan.

Participation involves two morning visits (after an overnight fast) to the University of Manchester (Neuroscience and Psychiatry Unit, Stopford building). Breakfast will be served at one of the two visits. Participants will be required to complete questionnaires and perform some computer-based tasks to explore their appetite and interest in foods.

 

If you are eligible and participate, you will be compensated for your time.
