Attendance requirements of students
The University’s Regulation XX Work and Attendance of Students details the responsibility of students with regard to work and attendance.
Information is also provided on the procedures that may be commenced if unauthorised absences and late work become habitual with no reasonable explanation.
If students know that they will be unable to attend because of problems with childcare/care of dependants on a particular day, they are advised to:
- Contact the lecturer or tutor concerned;
- Find out what they need to do to catch up;
- Inform their School office to ensure they are aware of the reason for the absence.
If a student faces last minute difficulties (for example if care arrangements fall through unexpectedly or dependants are ill), they should contact the relevant academic and School staff as soon as possible.
