The Danels begin their late-Schubert survey with the bitter-sweet ‘Rosamunde’ named after its slow movement’s variations on incidental music to a play of that name. The Second Piano Quintet by Poland’s Gra?yna Bacewicz blends with neoclassicism with modernist adventure, and the concert opens with the genial Serenade by Romanus Hoffstetter, previously attributed to Haydn.
