Jenny Gradwell speaks at the 'Walk for Women' event

Celebrating the city’s strong women on International Women’s Day 2018
Earlier this month Jenny Gradwell (HCRI Senior Projects Administrator) was invited to speak at the International Women’s Day 'Walk for Women' event.
She was joined by the Interim Chief Executive of Breakthrough UK in highlighting the continuing inequalities in representation in both local and national politics, and the barriers to voting for many disabled people that still exist today.
During the event, Jenny announced a trust fund in memory of her Mum, Lorraine Gradwell, a pioneering grass-roots civil rights campaigner who passed away suddenly in September 2017. The fund will aim to work towards removing barriers and creating conditions which will enable increased diverse political representation in and around Manchester, with a particular focus on disabled people
