Manchester Access Programme (MAP) applications now open

03 Nov 2017

Applications for the Manchester Access Programme (MAP) are now open

The Manchester Access Programme (MAP) is the University's flagship widening participation scheme for local post-16 students who meet specific academic and background criteria.

The aim of the programme is to support entry to the University, or another research-intensive university, through the completion of a portfolio of work demonstrating specific knowledge and skills.

We want to recruit students who will be successful at the University regardless of their educational and social background. In view of this, we have developed the Manchester Access Programme to target and support talented students from backgrounds currently under-represented in higher education.

We are hosting a talk about MAP at the University on 15 November from 5pm until 6pm. This will give any eligible Year 12 students the opportunity to learn more about the programme and its benefits.

To book, and for more information, including eligibility criteria and benefits of the programme:

Students who successfully complete MAP receive a supported admissions process, and, should they apply to The University of Manchester, are eligible for a reduced offer of up to two A-Level grades (or equivalent) and a welcome bursary scholarship of £1000.

The application deadline is 5pm on Monday, 18 December.
