Our Be Active sessions are run as 8 week blocks and run all year round. The next 8 week block will run between 15 October - 7 December 2018. You can pick from a wide range of different classes such as Yoga, Pilates, Zumba, Kettlebell and many more. 

Staff Wellbeing Fair

All staff are invited to attend the Staff Wellbeing Fair at the Whitworth Hall on Tuesday, 30 October, from 12pm–2pm. Please register for this free event via Eventbrite or on the day. All registered attendees will be entered into a prize draw to win one of two £250 Super Break vouchers.  

The Staff Fair will showcase many of the wellbeing benefits you can access as a member of staff. These include representatives from the University and a range of external wellbeing benefits with cakes, gifts and artisan chocolate that will be available to buy on the day.

Wood Street Mission and Emmeline’s Pantry foodbank, will be attending and are hoping all staff can bring along unwrapped donations for their Christmas Appeals. This year Wood Street Mission would appreciate new toys and gifts for children aged 0 – 14 years. They are hoping that more staff can donate earlier this year so that they know what is left to buy from charity funds for the families they support. They will be bringing the big van with them on 30 Octber. So le'ts make it worth their while! Emmeline’s Pantry would appreciate donations of new toiletry gift sets, new pyjama sets for women, selection boxes, new toys and gifts for women and teenagers.

To keep staff entertained, three University Choirs will be performing short sets during the event for you from 12.15pm onwards.  Full details of the event are available. The first four hundred attendees will also receive a free eco University bag to put in freebies from the event.

Prize draw

Friendinabox sends thoughtful gifts and treats in an eye-catching blue letterbox-friendly box to anywhere in the world. Staff Wellbeing are currently running a prize draw to win a FriendinBox Little Lykke gift box. They will be at the Staff Wellbeing Fair on the 30th October so you can have the opportunity to buy direct on the day for yourself or a loved one.
