Chris and Alice

Following a comprehensive recruitment and selection process, the Faculty of Science and Engineering delighted to announce that we have appointed to the two new Head of School roles:

  • Professor Chris Hardacre, currently Head of School of Chemical Engineering and Analytical Science, has been appointed to the role of Vice Dean and Head of School of Natural Sciences; and
  • Professor Alice Larkin, currently Head of School of Mechanical, Aerospace and Civil Engineering, has been appointed to the role of Vice Dean and Head of School of Engineering

There was a very strong pool of internal and external applications and these appointments clearly demonstrate the high calibre of individuals within the Faculty.

These roles will be dedicated to developing and driving strategic decision-making across the Schools, in line with the strategic direction of the Faculty.

Dean Martin Schröder said "I look forward to working with Chris and Alice in the coming period to create and embed the new structure and strengthen our collective research, teaching and learning, and social responsibility."

In the coming period we will begin the process of appointing their replacements in Chemical Engineering and Analytical Science and Mechanical, Aerospace and Civil Engineering.
