All you need to know about Departments

StaffNet on various devices

StaffNet is a hugely important internal website, giving University staff who work online the information and resources they need to do their jobs well – last year it received 3.8 million visits.

Our new version – created by the Division of Communications and Marketing last year – gives you much better access to the information and services you need and it’s responsive on all your devices.  The launch has resulted in an increase of new visitors by 15%.

The top menu features a section on Departments – click on this and you will be taken to clearly displayed boxes on Faculties and Schools, Professional Support Services, Discipline areas, Research Institutes, Library and Public Institutions.

Click on the box for Professional Support Services and you will be taken to a newly-designed website that not only explains our operational priorities, but also gives information on the structure of the PSS, Registrar Will Spinks and the Leadership Team, as well as an archive of Coremunicate and a list of HEI Seminars.

The Discipline areas box gives a fascinating list of our fields of academic expertise, while Research Institutes tells you where this work takes place.

The Library and Public Institutions boxes give you all the information you may need on our cultural assets – access to these is a further benefit for staff here at the University.

The Departments section is extremely useful and easy to navigate. Many colleagues agree that the new version of StaffNet is a vast improvement. Feedback includes:

“I have worked here for 20 years and it’s the most informative, instant information giving tool, I have ever had access to.”
