Information requirements

Incidents that may lead to a claim

The Insurance Office must be notified of any incident or circumstance that may lead to a claim by or against the University.

Third party claims received

If you receive any communication regarding a claim from a third party or their representative you must forward it to the Insurance Office without delay.

No attempt should be made to respond to the claim, although you may acknowledge its receipt and state that it has been forwarded to the Insurance Office for attention.

The insurers must be informed of any significant changes to the level of cover required and the scale and nature of the University's activities.

In particular, the Insurance Office should be advised of any of the following changes:

  • Any changes in the use of premises not owned by the University.

Activities

Subsidiary undertakings

  • New subsidiary undertakings;
  • Changes in the overall control of existing subsidiary undertakings.
