Probation
All posts at the University are subject to probationary periods.

Academic related and Research staff Grades 6-8 |
9 months | 1 calendar month |
Academic staff Grades 6-8 | Up to 4 years | 3 calendar months |
On appointment staff are required to attend any relevant mandatory training and complete an induction programme in order to successfully complete their probation.
If employment is judged to be fully satisfactory, the appointment will be confirmed. If the manager believes performance can be improved the probation period can be extended for up to two months.
If performance is judged to be unsatisfactory, the employment will be terminated with the appropriate notice. During the period of probation, the notice period may be varied by mutual agreement.
