New process for promoting lectures and seminars
23 Mar 2018
Please tell us if you need access to the Columba system
The Faculty plans to make greater use of the University’s events-listing application – Columba – to promote lectures, seminar series and local meetings.
Feedback has indicated that staff would prefer to have access to a full listing of Faculty events in one location – which Columba can provide – rather than having to search through the Announcements system. Columba also allows users to include location maps, images and has the option to publish to various other University calendars to reach a wider audience.
The Columba listing is on the intranet homepage, alongside the Faculty news feed and can be viewed HERE.
Using Columba to promote your event
“Our aim will be to phase out the use of the Faculty announcements system to promote Faculty events” said Internal Communications Manager, Ian Speakman.
To ensure Columba is available to everyone who needs it, please email the Internal Communications (IC) Team at bmhcommunications@manchester.ac.uk to confirm:
- Whether you currently have access to Columba and are using it pro-actively
- If you don’t have access to Columba, but would like access to publicise your events
Adopting a phased approach to implementation
The IC team will be phasing out the use of the Faculty announcement system for events promotion by pro-actively contacting those who continue to use it for this purpose after 30 April 2018, to help them convert to Columba.
Thank you for your patience and support as we seek to embed Columba across the Faculty.
